About our
2025 Season
The two plays chosen for our staged reading series, Snog Islet and Everything I Do, I Do for Taylor Swift, embrace humor as a tool for social commentary, utilizing unexpected and oft comedic settings (a reality game show and a middle school fan club) to uncover the ills of power structures. By developing these new works over multiple seasons, we are simultaneously investing in our own future and helping launch the artistic voices who will define the medium’s future.
Our full productions, Pandora’s Shut-the-Box Game and Protect the Protectors, exemplify our belief that theatre must challenge authority and provide a space for reflection and action. These plays confront global injustices head-on, inviting audiences to engage with urgent conversations in ways that only live performance can facilitate. Paired with community outreach and teaming up with local charities at our performances, we hope to further aid our audiences to feel empowered to create a better future for us all.
Ending our season with The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a testament to our commitment to queer joy and liberation. The first production Kitchen Sink ever staged, Rocky Horror remains a symbol of our company’s past, present, and future—a bold, irreverent celebration of identity, community, and the radical act of being unapologetically yourself.
2025 marks an exciting milestone for Kitchen Sink Theatre Company as it partners with other theatre companies to create new artistic and community opportunities. This year, KSTC is collaborating with Walk Up Theatre Collective and Forager Theatre Company to present The Neighborhood, a new works festival taking place in March 2025. This one-night-only event will celebrate the three independent theatre companies, each showcasing a short reading of a new work.
Additionally, KSTC is teaming up with Forager Theatre Company to host a networking event in June 2025. Designed to bring both artistic communities together, this event will provide a valuable space for artists to connect, build relationships within their fields, and foster new creative collaborations.
Kitchen Sink Theatre Company is excited to return to Rubulad, our favorite Brooklyn venue, for fundraising events in June and September 2025. These events will feature drag performances, a professional tattoo studio, tarot card readings, local jewelry makers, a bake sale, and more. Beyond raising funds for the upcoming season, these gatherings serve as a celebration of our vibrant artistic community.
